Street photography

Experimental : photo made through the window of a driving tram, which caused the reflection and strange colouring - I did some panning, to avoid too much motion blur - comments and feed back very welcome!

I don't have much to add to what the others said. I liked the tricky and surreal reflections. I wonder if the image would work better with balanced colors or in b/w. I know that you left the dominant color to 'reveal' the trick of the glass, though I like the surreal feeling of the image and I would enhance it. It almost looks like a double exposure.

Thanks Mary - yes, I did opt to not change anything about the strange colour, not so much to reveal the trick of the glass though, but because I felt it added to the surreal feeling of the light that was already there... But now you mention it, yes, it would be nice to play around a little more with it, to see how this image would work out with another colour treatment. Thanks for your feedback!

At first I was puzzled with the reflections, then I understood that you had shot from inside a car.
The result is good. Actually very good, considering the motion of the vehicle. Bit though it shows a lovely urban scene, it lacks the impact, the wow factor, in my opinion, that would make me look at this picture for a second time :)

Intriguing effect, it really had me puzzled until I read the comment! Street purists who insist on having every thing crisp and clear won't like it, but they must be a tiny minority. More serious critique could be that there's no action that focuses the attention. The walker walks, the painters paint and each is doing their own thing without interaction - which could be a subject too, of course, but isn't the story in this picture. This leaves it within the dA definition of Street, but doesn't succeed to make it top-of-the-bill 'in-your-face' Street.
I do like this as a photo in general though. The tinted windows of the bus have given it old master-like glow, which fits with the subject and works well with the light to create an interesting mood. It makes you want to go there.
